Reverend Prince Raney Rivers Reverend Prince Raney Rivers is our Senior Pastor. Pastor Rivers is passionate about preaching, teaching, discipleship and mentoring. He has delivered lectures and sermons in congregations, for denominations, and at colleges and universities around the country and abroad. He is the author of numerous articles, essays and two book chapters on pastoral ministry. Pastor Rivers has a forthcoming book featuring over twenty sermons preached from the Gospel of John (Smyth & Helwys Press). In 2015, Rivers was invited to Duke Divinity School to deliver the “State of the Black Church” address for Gardner C. Taylor Lecture Series. Pastor Rivers currently serves on the board of directors of The Baptist House at Duke Divinity School and is the 4th Vice President of the General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Inc. Pastor Rivers received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Morehouse College, where he was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He earned Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School and completed the Harvard Divinity School Summer Leadership Institute. He has been a fellow of the Pastor-Theologian Program at Princeton Theological Seminary. Currently, he is a doctoral student in Leadership Studies at North Carolina A & T University. He joyfully shares life and ministry with his wife, Dr. Monica Corbitt Rivers. They are the proud parents of two young children.
